The TwentyNine North Story
Some of my earliest memories are of the Gulf Coast.
Going to the jetties. Walking the marsh. Heading offshore to fish. Crabbing along the bays and channels. And watching the shrimp boats come and go.
I was always fascinated by those boats. There was something about seeing them working the water that stayed with me—the rigging, the gulls following behind, the docks, and the people whose lives were tied to the Gulf.
As I got older, those places became more than somewhere to spend a day. They became part of who I am.
Now I get to experience the coast again through my daughter.
She collects shells along the beach. She’s learning to fish. She explores the water and marshes, and I hope that as she grows older, she comes to appreciate the Gulf Coast the way I have.
Because the coast isn’t only sunsets and beaches.
It’s standing on a jetty with a fishing rod. It’s muddy shoes after walking the marsh. It’s pulling up a crab trap. It’s watching shrimp boats disappear toward the horizon. It’s families returning to the same piers, bays and stretches of shoreline year after year.
Those experiences become memories. And over time, those memories become part of how we understand a place.
TwentyNine North grew from that connection.
The name comes from the 29th parallel—our starting point on the Texas Gulf Coast. But TwentyNine North is bigger than one city or one set of coordinates. The brand follows Gulf Coast Life from Texas through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida—the bays, barrier islands, working waterfronts, wildlife, food and people that give this coast its character.
We create apparel and tell stories rooted in the Gulf Coast: its people, its history, its working culture and the places worth passing on to the next generation.
